Full Description:

In a day and age where people are more sedentary, gyms are popping up everywhere to facilitate staying (or getting) in shape. This is a successful activity for many - but not for everyone! Too often people sign up, and don’t keep going because it’s just not fun for them. Of course fitness for adults can occur outside the gym. Everyone has tried (some on a regular basis – others sporadically) walking, running, cycling, yoga and swimming. There is however, a highly overlooked option… dance! With so many television shows now focusing on dance it’s amazing that more adults have not joined the fun. They put their kids in it, their grandkids – and forget about themselves. Maybe it’s time to reconsider and look at it for them! Not only aerobic in nature, dancing is an invigorating and satisfying activity. Participants listen to great music, learn (or re-learn) dance steps and can have as much variety as they want. What kind of dance class is best for adults? None are better than the other. The key is to pick one that appeals to their specific interest and then attend regularly. Tap instructor Nelson Curtis, creator of the tap-ercize program and an instructor at Class Act Performing Arts Academy says, “Dancing keeps you young, and reconnects you with muscles you haven’t used in years. You only go through life once…. You ought to dance a little and enjoy it more!” Class Act Performing Arts Academy on Guadalupe Road in Gilbert offers many kinds of dance classes for adults such as tap, classical ballet, stretch and strengthen, hip hop, street jazz, modern, and salsa. Participating is easy – just pick a class according to interest and experience and enjoy the benefits of regular dance exercise! For more information about adult or youth classes at Class Act Performing Arts Academy call 480-507-1898.
